Eslam is a PhD candidate in Cultural and Social Anthropology at the Department of Human Sciences for Education, “Riccardo Massa”, University of Milan-Bicocca (Italy). Eslam’s work concentrates mainly on Migration Studies. His PhD subject aims at investigating problems that migrants face before their journey, how they pursue strategies of integration in the host countries, and the challenges of the return to their countries of origin. His education is highly interdisciplinary and spans from Cultural Anthropology, Migration Studies, Social Anthropology, to Development Economics in the Mediterranean, in the Middle East and in North Africa. He holds two Master’s degrees in Economics and Development Studies and is fluent in Arabic and English.
