Marta Scaglioni

Marta‘s research area is North Africa, where she carried out fieldwork during her Master Studies on gentrification processes in Cairo, Egypt. In 2014, she worked on the heritage of slavery in Southern Tunisia in the frame of ERC-Consolidator Grant Project SWAB (Shadows of Slavery in West Africa and Beyond) at the University of Milan-Bicocca, Italy. She is currently a PhD student at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, in Ethnologie.  She is fluent in English, German, and speaks Egyptian Arabic and French. In TAAD, she is carrying out a research project on aging Egyptian migrants in Milano.
